Dreams

Last night, I woke up thinking about the second floor of our dream home. Currently, it is leaking from the roof and has a very strange layout from a remodel in the 1940s. We can replace the roof or tear off the second floor and start over. The difference in cost is substantial. The possibilities are endless, however. As we have been talking about recreating the house's original footprint, this seems like the better option. As someone who has always taken the safe route, this is frightening.
This option will require an architect, an engineer, a general contractor, subcontractors, an electrician, a plumber, etc. The possibilities are endless. We can change the current layout. The roof will have a much better pitch for drainage. Everything can be brought up to the current code. It will be better insulated.
The downside of this option is that we will have to live in the back of the home and through a home construction project. If you have ever seen the movie “Money Pit,” you know what I’m thinking—money problems, contractor issues, stress, creating a workspace for Kat, dust, and time.
Things done haphazardly never seem to work out right. If we plan this out right, I envision the most extraordinary home. I see the vision. I have to have faith that it will all work out right.

And, of course, Kat had to add her thoughts….
I’ve lived my whole life taking chances. I am the kind of person that says – I love it! Let’s do that! – and not thinking about how to make it happen. I KNOW that it will. My iron will, positivity, sunshine, and belief in unicorns will make it happen, whatever that may be.
Don’t get me wrong, I know it will take hard work. Time. Trust in others. It’s all part of a much bigger plan.
All the LOVE,
Clark and Kat
